Launching: Trim Healthy Mama Support Group!

At the end of this week I will officially launch my very own Trim Healthy Mama Support Group!  Maybe you guys can help me think of a more creative name :-).

My goal for this group is to support and encourage one another, answer questions and become a tight-knit community of women (men are welcome too!) who are dedicated to finally making changes in our lives and health that we never thought possible!  I’m not the expert, by any stretch of the imagination, but I have lost 52 pounds following Trim Healthy Mama and I found such a good website for protein deals, I’ve learned so much this year.  I want to share all of this with you!

This group is free…the only thing you need is the book.  If you don’t already have it, you can order it here:

I will have a Facebook page associated with this group, but it’s so much more than a Facebook page. There will be weekly meet-ups either through live-webinars or Google Hangouts (details to come!) and we will discuss many different topics. Obviously, we’ll go through the program, but I want to discuss things like artificial sweeteners, organic foods, etc…things that really make a difference in our health. The group will progress as we go along and learn what works best and I’m open to suggestions as well.

If you would like to register for the group, we are primarily on Facebook, so request to join our group here.

Bought the book 6 months ago and still haven’t started. Have ADD and its confusing! Trying to get started! So happy I found your site!

Yes. I don’t have ADD but i’m having trouble finding fun meals. I really am not a fan of oatmeal and have fixed it with cinnamon and stevia. It’s disgusting and i choked it down.
I made the pancakes and literally choked on the thickness. I need to eliminate that cottage cheese from the recipe. I’m so discouraged and have emailed them and facebooked them. I wish there was a cooking class in my area to show how to to this well. I burned my mom’s $100 fry pan with the pancake recipes with the “smear of butter” they suggested. Hope you will have success! I’m sticking with it as long as i can find a better sweetner (of course i have to buy theirs which I’ve spent a lot of money already on flours, etc. Sigh.

I want to do this eating plan very badly, but am concerned about whether this is only for young people who have active metabolisms and lives. I am over 60 and not very active, but need to lose weight. Do you know of results for older people on THM?

This eating plan is for anyone young or mature! Do it! It revs your sluggish metabolism.

Thank you for the encouragement. I have started the plan and feel quite good about it. I am experimenting with the sippers and feel that they are going to be a major part of my daily plan. They seem to help me avoid between meal eating. Great!

I am 62 yrs of age. I began THM 2 mos after my 62 BD. I began July 11, 2014. I have done the ‘program’ ever since, even during holidays. Not hard to do. I just have to stop & think so I don’t fall back into old habits, but it has been easy for me. To date, I have lost 40 lbs. I LOVE doing THM. It is a way of eating that I plan to do for the rest of my life. I have slowed down somewhat, but am seeing a pretty steady weight/inch loss. I have recently made the Good Girl Moonshine my daily ‘staple’ recently and feel that it is really helping me. You can do it. Plenty of mature women have done THM with great success. Happy THMing!

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my concerns. I appreciate that you are over 60 and having success with THM. I am trying, but so far not really on track. I shall keep trying. :o)

          Hey Glenda!
I think it has nothing to do with the “over 60” issue as i am 63. My problem is i am a woman who wants to lose weight and am willing to spend money to do it. I’ve done visalus, and advocare. spent tons of money on that one. I just hope this is going to work. I went from working and having a husband, not working and staying with my mom and helping her because she cant drive, and being a widow. These changes are positive changes i know, but the learning curve is steep for me. for 71/2 years i was drive throught Sue. There just was not time. I’m very busy with a LOT of other things and dont’ have the emotional support i need right now. Diet needs to be part of my life, but it is not and i am trying to welcome it into my life but it’s turning it upside down. Yes..we all know how we relate to food. It’s who we are (because we are what we eat). but so far I’ve eating tons of egg beaters with turkey bacon. The only difference between this and the diets i have done are that they took away jelly (the only sweet thing about breakfast) and sugar and cream in my coffee (that made coffee worthwhile. ANd my coffee doens’t even recognize that Truvia. It’s bitter. So now i find out that i have to buy yet another sweetner. money money money

I know how you feel, Ginny. It is really hard to focus on diet when our lives are in constant upheaval.

Hi everyone, got book and started in September. Lost 15lbs in 8 wks. Then went to Texas and ate like a pig. Then ate like a bigger pig, all holidays long. Gained 10 back. I need this group, and I love this plan! Amber, I love your videos and your encouragement.

    Howdy Amber!

Just found your youtube channel, which led me here. As others have mentioned, you are a REAL mom and wife…and that makes you so attractive to us. I for one need help. I bought the book over 6 months ago and tried to follow, but I think I was mixing stuff up because I didn’t have any success, then I just felt bad for wasting money on expensive food. 🙁 I REALLY need this to work. My weight just keeps going up and up and I have three boys that want to have a happy and healthy momma. I am wanting to join your group, but I no longer have a facebook account.
Thanks for your inspiration and all the helpful videos.

God bless you and your beautiful family. You look so beautiful!

So my family has been doing the THM plan for about 2 weeks now. We have lost anywhere from 7-12 pounds each. Thank you, Amber, for introducing me to this plan!!! It’s been the easiest weight I have ever lost. 🙂
